If you really want to lose weight, just dieting is not going to cut it! Any good diet should be combined with cardio exercise.
Besides simple lifestyle changes, there are many different types of cardio exercise to follow, and lots of them are really fun.
Its really up to you to find which exercise suits your body type, and which one you enjoy.
As a model, it is imperative to stay slim and toned. Each model has their own routines, but here are some of my personal favorites:
Take advantage of a nice day and get outside for some fresh air! Rollerblading is a great form of aerobic exercise that tones parts of the body that you never normally use.
Rollerblading both improves balance and strengthens every muscle from the lower back to the knees. Muscles in the upper arms and shoulders are also developed when arms are swung vigorously while skating.
If its a rainy day then stop at the gym and get on the elliptical machine! Its easy on the joints, and you're not bouncing around like on the treadmill, so you can read while you exercise!
Its the middle of the winter and you don't know what to do. Why not hit the slopes! You'll be having so much fun you won't even realize you're exercising!
Even if you don't own a bike, renting one is very cheap. And what a great way to enjoy the local parks and lakes - another way to exercise without realising it!
In many cities there are organized cycle groups that meet at a certain point and bike a prearranged route. These are great for cyclists who are less comfortable in city traffic. If that is not a problem for you, then why not try cycling to work?
They're not for everybody, but if you don't mind gym classes then they really are the best way. Use a professional to get you into shape! Some of my favorites are:
There's no doubt that running is the most effective cardio exercise. If you can get the motivation to stay on the treadmill for 30 minutes a few times a week, the benefits for your cardiovascular system are huge.
The benefits of running are twofold. Firstly, you burn about 100 calories for every mile that you run. Secondly, while running you build lean muscle mass that will increase your metabolism and burn calories even when you're at rest.
